Quarter refers to a full 10-week quarter (Fall, Winter, Spring). Summer 5-week quarters do not count towards this requirement.

The courses used to calculate the Psychology Major GPA for the Psi Chi application are every Psychology course taught in a Psychology Department a student has ever taken and received a final letter grade. Pass/No Pass courses will not impact the Major GPA. Please note- this is different than how UCSD calculates your Psych Major GPA, so you cannot use the Psych Major GPA on your degree audit. Here is a GPA calculator to help.

This refers to a student's standing within their academic class (sophomore, junior, senior) and is a separate requirement from the individual listed GPA requirements. Determining the Top 35% also uses GPAs, and these are consistently higher than the individual requirements of a minimum 3.3 UCSD GPA and 3.0 Major GPA. Therefore, you may meet the individual GPA requirements but not the Top 35% requirement.
